I believe there are two types of travelers:
“The Relaxer”: This traveler embraces a slower pace. They sleep in, take in the sights leisurely, and are perfectly content with lounging on a beach for the duration of their stay. Nothing is rushed; their goal is pure relaxation.
Then there’s me… “The Ripper and Runner”: Fueled by caffeine and living by the motto, “I’ll sleep when I’m home,” I cram every attraction into each stop. There’s no time for sand between my toes—I’m all about sneakers on cobblestones!
While I’m a Ripper and Runner at heart, I decided to embrace a bit of The Relaxer’s style during my time in Phuket. Thailand was my very first solo vacation, and I wanted to give myself the gift of time—time to do nothing, time for stillness, time for peace, time to listen to God’s voice… just time. My itinerary in Phuket was simple: visit the iconic islands:
Phi Phi

James Bond

Both islands are beautiful in their own right, but if I had to choose one, I’d recommend the James Bond experience. The specific excursion I chose through viator.com was more laid-back, with slow sailing to and from the island, yet still offered adventure with canoeing and snorkeling. Explore that links below to learn more, and decide for yourself. Or simply see both as I did!

Visiting these islands felt like a vacation within a vacation—a little piece of peace wrapped in nature’s calm and serenity. Maybe the “Relaxers” have been onto something all along. Perhaps we all need to embrace that mindset—not just on vacation, but in our everyday lives. Imagine how much more powerful we could be if we made time to quiet our minds, reflect, and simply be. Time to reconnect with ourselves, to honor what we love, and to reflect before moving forward. Self-care through time isn’t just a luxury—it’s essential. I challenge you, and myself, to see it that way as we make it more of a priority in our everyday lives!

Until our next Runway… keep strutting through life, one adventure at a time!
